HANCEVILLE — A 19-year-old Hanceville bicyclist is dead after being thrown from his bicycle after a hit-and-run on Thursday, Nov. 9.
Dakota R. Lamons, 19, was killed when the bicycle that he was operating was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run at 6:46 p.m. Lamon was thrown off the bicycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle is believed to be a 2007-2014 white Chevrolet Silverado or a GMC Sierra with the entire passenger side black mirror missing from the vehicle. Anyone with information on the vehicle or the incident should contact ALEA Troopers at (256) 353-0631.
The crash occurred on Alabama 91 near Cullman County 501, approximately eight miles south of Hanceville in Cullman County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
