TRUSSVILLE — A Trussville motor scout was struck by a vehicle on Deerfoot Parkway on Tuesdays afternoon, according to TPD Chief Eric Rush.
“He was sitting still, waiting to turn left into the police complex when he was hit,” Rush said.
Trussville Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and transported the officer to UAB Hospital.
The officer suffered serious injuries, but is alert and conscious. Rush was in route to the hospital to check on the officer.
Irondale police are handling the preliminary investigation since a TPD officer was involved. It is not known at this time if charges will be filed.
