TRUSSVILLE — Cicis Pizza is planning to reopen the Trussville restaurant in Trussville Crossings. The restaurant originally opened in October of 2016 and was immediately a popular family dining destination.
Following the pandemic, the restaurant struggled to to regain it’s footing, most likely due to the self-serve buffet style that created issues for many similar eateries. Finding enough workers to staff shifts has also been problematic for many restaurants locally and across the country.
The Trussville location is corporate owned and preparation for the relaunch is well underway with workers on site revamping the restaurant. While an opening date has not been set, the target is near the end of the year and applications for employment are being accepted at this time.
Cicis Pizza originated in Plano, Texas, opening the first location in 1985. Today, there are more than 300 restaurants in 30-plus states and has been ranked by CNN Money as the No. 1 “Casual Dining Pizza Chain (for your money) in America,” named by Technomic as the No. 2 “Most Kid-Friendly Chain as voted by Millennial Moms” and recognized by Nation’s Restaurant News among its Top 200 Restaurant Chains and Franchise Times Top 400, according to the company website.
In addition to pizza, the all-you-can-eat style restaurant offers salads, pasta, chicken wings, and desserts.
