MONTGOMERY — UPDATE: I-65 is now open.
Two separate multi-vehicle crashes have close to heavily travel corridors, according to Corporal Reginal M. King of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:48 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, has caused a lane closure,” King. “The southbound lanes of Interstate 65 near the 237 mile marker in Shelby County are blocked and will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.”
ALEA Highway Patrol Division are on scene investigating.
A separate multi-vehicle crash in Talldega County near the Interstate 20 connector in Lincoln closed Alabama Highway 77.
“A multi-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:16 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, has caused a road closure,”King said. “Alabama 77 near the 75 mile marker in Talladega County is currently blocked and will be for an undetermined amount of time.”
The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is currently on scene assisting with traffic control and diversion.
