ST. CLAIR COUNTY — Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office faced a tense situation on Thursday, according to Sheriff Billy Murray,
“The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to serve a set out order on a subject at 130 Cedar Branch Circle in Odenville around 9 a.m. this morning,” Murray said. “When deputies encountered the subject, he produced a knife threatening deputies. The subject has barricaded himself inside the residence at 130 Cedar Branch Circle.”
A set out order is generally part of an eviction process.
Around 2:15 p.m., Murray announced that the suspect had been taken into custody and there were no reported injuries in the incident.
Murray said Eric B. Jackson was in the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City with charges of making terrorist threats 1st, obstructing governmental operations, menacing simple assault, marijuana and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Murray said the Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pell City Police Department, Oxford Police Department, Odenville Police Department, and FBI Gadsden.
