BLOUNT COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, has claimed the life of a Grant man, according to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Winston was not using his seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to ALEA..
“The passengers of the Chevrolet, Hunter C. Nickell, 23; Braden T. Nickell, 22; and Noah C. Burns, 22, all of Grant, were injured and transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for treatment,” Bailey said. “Both Braden T. Nickell and Noah C. Burns were not using their seat belts at the time of crash.”
The crash occurred on Alabama 79 near mile marker 40, approximately two miles east of Blountsville, in Blount County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
