HOOVER — The driver of a Lexus RX 350 that caused a head-on collision in October 2023 resulting in the deaths of a husband and wife has been arrested after being charged with two counts of murder and one count of reckless endangerment, according to the Hoover Police Department.
Sarah Rose Tisdale 34-years-old of Hoover received a $6000 bond for reckless endangerment but no bond for the two counts of murder.
Tisdale was taken into custody at 12:16 p.m. on Friday by Hoover police officers in the 1500 block of Chace Terrace in Hoover. She was transported to the Hoover City Jail and has since been transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.
On October 31, 2023 at 6:19 A.M., the Hoover 911 center received a call reporting a two vehicle crash with injuries on John Hawkins Parkway, near Hunter Street Baptist Church. The initial investigation revealed that a Lexus RX 350 was traveling west on John Hawkins Parkway when it crossed into the opposite lane of travel and struck a Nissan Rouge traveling east.
Both occupants of the Nissan Rouge, Teresa Roberts, 64, and George Roberts, 67, of Bessemer, Alabama died at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Lexus was transported to UAB Hospital with serious injuries and a 3-year-old passenger in the Lexus was transported to Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.
Hoover Police Traffic Homicide investigators responded to the scene to reconstruct the crash and determine what factors contributed to its cause. At the completion of the investigation, investigators determined that the driver of the Lexus RX 350 was under the influence of multiple controlled substances at the time of the crash.
The case was presented to the Jefferson County-Bessemer District Attorney’s Office which issued the warrants.
