JEFFERSON COUNTY – State Bureau of Investigation agents are looking into an officer involved shooting on Sunday at the request of the Pleasant Grove Police Department, according to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The individual was later identified as Joshua A. Slate, 38, of Adamsville, and was transported to UAB Hospital for medical treatment.
An officer with Pleasant Grove Police Department was also injured during the incident, which resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.
Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing. Once complete, the findings will be turned over to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office – Bessemer Division.
