TRUSSVILLE — The much anticipated Capella Pizzeria is open in Trussville and based on the reaction from locals, it was worth the wait. Known for their authentic woodfire Neapolitan style pizza, Capella’s brings a new style and flavor to the area.
Kardir Ozbey, one of the owners, said the crew in Trussville has been training for at least six months at Capella’s on U.S. Highway 280 to learn to prepare the specialized pies and to assure a smooth opening in Trussville.

Two new wood burning stoves were brought from Italy to meet the quality standards the restaurant is known for. Additionally, cure toppings such as pepperoni, salami and sausage and even the desserts are all authentic Italian and imported especially for Capella’s.
The intense wood fire produces temperatures that are perfect for the famous crust that has customers returning time after time. The oven can cook a pizza in about a minute and a half.
The total prep time for a pizza is about three and a half to four minutes.
In the video below, you can see how quickly the pizza cooks in the imported ovens.
Capella Pizzeria is located at 5445 Patrick Way, Ste. 101, across the parking lot from Panera Bread. The hours are 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. or until they run out of fresh dough.
