JEFFERSON COUNTY — A Jefferson County school bus came up missing on Monday morning and investigators would like for the public to keep an eye out for the vehicle, according to Lt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 6:45 a.m. on Monday, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were notified of a school bus that had been taken.
“The driver parked the Jefferson County Board of Education school bus at the West Jefferson Town Hall building on Friday afternoon,” Money said. “When he returned to the bus this morning to begin his route, he discovered the bus was missing.”
Bus number 12-24, bearing tag number 51932C0 was taken from 7000 West Jefferson Road in Quinton at approximately 3:35 a.m. Monday.
“If you see this bus, please contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450, option two,”Money said.
