BIRMINGHAM — The shooting death of a 24-year-old man in Birmingham was determined to be justified, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
Reginald Martin, of Birmingham, was shot and killed in the 800 block of 47th Street North, on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Martin was found in the doorway of a home and detectives determined that Martin and the shooter were involved in a verbal altercation prior to the shooting.
After investigators presented information to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office for review, the DA ruled the actions of the shooter were justified. The case was reclassified as a justified death and no criminal charges will be filed.
