TRUSSVILLE — BarBend.com ranked Trussville as the seventh fittest city in Alabama. Mountain Brook ranked number one.
The study considered factors including exercise opportunities, access to healthy food, air pollution and drinking water quality. The study also took into account the inactivity of residents, obesity and smoking.
Experts found that Trussville has a high rate of exercise opportunities at 800 (per 1,000 people) suggesting that the surrounding environment can play a key role in determining people’s fitness level. They have the city a fitness score of 75.23.
Also on the list, the city of Clay ranked at number 14 and Leeds was number 20, on the list of 50. Pinson was number 21, Grayson Valley was number 27 and Center Point was number 38.
