From The Tribune staff reports
Polls will open for municipal elections across Alabama on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020.
The last day to request an absentee ballot is Aug. 20. Absentee ballots are available for voters who will be out of town or have a medical issue or disability. For more information on how to get an absentee ballot, see your local City Clerk.
Secretary of State John Merill has clarified that due to the coronavirus pandemic and National Emergency, voters who feel it is unreasonable or impossible to vote at their voting place, are eligible for an absentee ballot. The box to check for anyone with health concerns at the polls, reads: “I have a physical illness or infirmity which prevents my attendance at the polls.”
A voter ID is required.
