TRUSSVILLE — A Hueytown woman wanted by the Trussville Police Department on several felony warrants, has been arrested
Amy Leigh Nichols, 39, is facing several charges including trafficking in stolen identities, possession of a forged instrument third-degree, forgery third-degree, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama.
Nichols was arrested on June 4, 2020, in connection to an incident at Home Depot in Trussville. Officers said they discovered drugs and various ID’s in a vehicle.
Although Nichols was originally arrested, detectives were unable to obtain warrants from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office until Nov. 2, 2020. Trussville Police Chief Eric Rush said the delay was due to COVID-19.
Nichols was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Friday, Nov. 6, on $65,000 in bonds. She was released hours later, after posting bond.
