TRUSSVILLE — A no-judgment gym with less than $10 monthly fees could be the third of three new businesses moving into the former Kmart location in the Trussville Shopping Center.
Jack Robertson, the broker for Crunch Fitness, said the owner is in talks about moving to the shopping center, off Chalkville Mountain Road, but is also looking at other areas of the city.
“When Crunch comes to Trussville, and it’s only a matter of time at this point, it will be Trussville’s biggest gym for the best price and no contracts,” Robinson said.
Crunch already has locations in Hoover and Alabaster. Robertson said the franchise owner of the Birmingham-metro locations is also looking at adding gyms to Gardendale, Highway 280, Homewood, Southside and possibly Cahaba Heights.
The gym offers group classes, Hiitzone (High Intensity Interval Training), and personal training. The buildings are colorful and are typically 30,000 to 35,000 square feet. The gyms are filled with strength and cardio equipment and have tanning beds and HydroMassage beds.
Memberships start at $9.95 a month.
Trussville Mayor Buddy Choat announced the former Kmart building will be split into three businesses. The other two businesses already coming to the center are Tractor Supply Company and Ollies.
