BIRMINGHAM — A Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy is on administrative leave after being arrested over the weekend.
Ross is the mother of an 11-month-old girl that was shot and killed, in July, at The Branch at Carson Springs. Birmingham Police are investigating the shooting death.
The sheriff’s office said Ross was arrested on Sunday during another incident. While deputies were conducting a criminal investigation in the 3600 block of Lloyd Nolan Parkway, they said Ross showed up on the scene and got into a fight with a victim. They said Ross was the primary aggressor.
Ross has resigned from her position as a deputy.
