ODENVILLE — ONEeighty Church breaks ground on the future site in Odenville.
ONEeighty Church is currently located in the Burton’s Grocery Store shopping center at 5770 Highway 11 in Springville. The new location will be right off exit 154 in Springville, Highway 174, just inside the Odenville city limits.
The church launched as a ministry of Clearbranch eleven years ago to minister to people who would never come into a building that resembled a church.
Through the years, ONEeighty attempted to become a multi-campus site, adding a Pinson campus with the same ministry model as when they began. Unfortunately, COVID impacted that campus, which closed its doors last year. During the time the Pinson campus was open, ONEeighty discussed buying the current building in Springville and doing a sizable renovation there. Unfortunately, the property owner wouldn’t sell.
So the church began looking for land in Springville when 18 acres of land became available in Odenville. In 2020 the church bought that land.
“It’s just been one thing after another since then, God opening doors, getting prints drawn up, and designing the church,” Gresh Harbuck, Senior Pastor of ONEeighty Church, said. “We wanted to design it so it would be something this community could be proud of.”
Harbuck explained that the new building would be a church but not resemble a church.
“It will not look like a church,” Harbuck said. “It will absolutely be a church but will probably look more like the new Ford Dealership right next to us.”
The church will be built in two phases. The first phase will be the sanctuary, the lobby, and the children’s area. Modular buildings will be located behind the church for fellowship, food, and classrooms until enough funds can be raised to begin phase two.
Harbuck hopes for the new location to be open and fully functional in the next year to 18 months. ONEeighty currently meets at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The Friday Celebrate Recovery meetings are at 7:00 p.m.
