BIRMINGHAM — A Leeds woman was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday, July 9, at approximately 2:02 p.m.
According to the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Office, Sherri Batton Collins, 50, of Leeds, was the driver of a Buick Encore traveling south on Interstate 59 South when involved in a multi-vehicle wreck.
The crash occurred on Interstate 59 South at the Messer Airport Highway exit in Birmingham.
Collins was transported to UAB Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck.
