JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 33-year-old woman was killed in a rollover crash in Jefferson County on Thursday, Dec. 1, around 6:40 p.m.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of the two-vehicle traffic accident on Highway 78 near Bagley.
“Early indications are that during the collision, one of the vehicles flipped multiple times, ejecting the driver,” Lieutenant Joni Money stated.
Hicks was transported to Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The second vehicle’s driver was also treated at a local hospital for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
“It is currently undetermined if criminal charges will be pursued,” Money stated.
