Pinson councilman Robbie Roberts announced on Facebook today his intentions to introduce a motion at tonight’s city council meeting that would rescind the incentives package for a body shop to be built in Pinson.
Roberts voted “no” to the original resolution at the last council meeting, and said he wants anyone who would like to come speak at the council meeting to please show up tonight.
“Persons wishing to address the council concerning matters that are expected to come before the council are allowed to speak before the council begins to take up business and begin deliberations,” Roberts said on Facebook.
The pre-council meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at city hall. The council meeting is slated for a 7 p.m. start time. To be heard by the council before any votes take place, anyone who wishes to speak must be signed in before the council meeting begins.
Also on the agenda will be the waste management issues some citizens are having, and Roberts has asked the contractor to address the Bicentennial Park construction.
“There are other items on the agenda however there has been much discussion on this page regarding the Joe Hudson’s (Collision Center) deal, trash pick-up problems, and delays in being able to enjoy the splash pad and other park amenities this summer,” Roberts said. “This is your chance to speak out and tell the people you elected how you feel about the lack of Restaurants in Pinson and if you think that using tax payer owned land and tax dollars are being spent wisely to bring in Joe Hudson’s.”
