TUSCALOOSA – The Clay-Chalkville Cougars are now hours from taking the field in Bryant-Denny Stadium to defend their Class 6A state championship against No. 2 Spanish Fort.
That contest will follow the Class 2A championship clash between Fyffe and Elba. Clay-Chalkville (14-0) and the Toros (14-0) are scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. and will put an end to the Alabama High School Athletics Association Super 7 championships in Tuscaloosa.
With a win over Spanish Fort, the Cougars would complete a two-year journey to a perfect 30-0 record, culminating with their second straight state title.
