TRUSSVILLE – An attempted robbery that took place at a Burger King on North Chalkville Road in Trussville resulted in the victim shooting the robber in the leg. Officers from the Trussville Police Department are investigating the incident.
According to Sgt. Michael Bruce from the TPD, the victim is a woman that met with a man at the fast food restaurant to buy a cell phone from him. They had met through an online market place.

At the parking lot, the woman was approached by the man to show her the phone when a second man appeared and held her at gunpoint. The woman then managed to draw her own gun and shot the second man in the leg.
Bruce said that detectives are interviewing a man with a gunshot wound at Princeton Medical Center and are working to find out if he was the suspect.
