BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham Police are investigating another homicide that took place at the Gate City community on April 1. Derrick Mason, 37, was shot and killed during an argument on the 7500 block of 64th Court Way South.
BPD Public Information Officer Lt. Pete Wiliston confirmed that officers from the East Precinct were dispatched to Court Way South at around 7:15 p.m. to respond to a report of a person being shot. They discovered Mason suffering from gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue medics were called to the scene.
Mason was pronounced deceased. No suspects have been brought into custody.
