From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
On April 28, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will hold a prescription drug take back day at the Center Point and McCalla substations. The goal, according to the sheriff’s office, is to have people turn in unused medications that could be abused by others.
“The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.”
The collection sites will be held at the Center Point Substation on 2651 Center Point Road, and the McCalla substation 5977 Eastern Valley Road. Both sites will take back medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
See the Drug Enforcement Agency’s website for more information on drug disposal.
