BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department has reported that detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 12 p.m.
Authorities said the deceased victim’s identification will be released upon confirmation and notification of immediate family members.
Officers from the North Precinct responded to the 900 block of Second Street North to investigate a report of multiple people shot. Officers arrived and found that three victims were suffering from gunshot wounds. Two victims were transported to UAB for treatment of their injuries. A third victim was located inside a vehicle unresponsive. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived, along with the Jefferson County Coroner, and pronounced the victim deceased, according to BPD.
