BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham police is investigating another homicide in the city, this investigation stems from an incident on Saturday, that happened in the 500 block of 41st Street North.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notifications.
Officers from the South Precinct were dispatched to the listed location on Saturday around 9:36 a.m.on the call of a person shot. When officers arrived, officers observed a black male lying on the ground suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was treated at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue and transported to UAB where he was pronounced deceased by the medical staff.
Police say the victim was standing outside of his vehicle conducting some sort of unknown transaction with another unknown white male. Witnesses stated they saw the white male standing over the victim’s body holding a gun in his hand. The white male left the scene in a Maroon colored F-150 truck.
This is an ongoing homicide investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
