TRUSSVILLE – One HTHS graduate is chasing down her dreams only two years after finishing high school.
Ashlyn West is the owner of West Ave Boutique, located at 77 Cedar Lane #101 in downtown Trussville. West has been fortunate enough to turn a love of shopping into an entrepreneurial endeavor.
“I didn’t think it would ever be possible,” West said. “I love helping people, so it’s been a lot of fun.”
West has been making the store her own little by little, decorating to put a personal touch and a twist on everything.
West Ave carries everything from tshirts, to shoes, to dresses and other fashions, and West’s favorite, jewelry.
“It’s hard for me not to keep everything, but it helps with my shopping addiction because I can buy from myself,” West said. “I love jewelry because I love all the little things you can add to your outfit.”
West said she’s thankful for the support of her family, as well as the community.
“I’m pleasantly surprised at the amount of great responses I’ve gotten back from people,” West said. “I love to see returning customers.”
West said to anyone unsure of whether to take the plunge and follow their dream, they should “just go for it.”
“You never know what’s out there, I’ve had great support,” West said. “We said we were going to do it, and we did it.”
