BIRMINGHAM — The Trussville Parks and Recreation sixth-grade all-star flag football team went undefeated this weekend in the 2017 Southeast Championship Youth Flag Football 5 on 5 Invitational Tournament held at Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex in Vestavia Hills across Saturday and Sunday.

Trussville defeated the Oak Mountain Broncos 22-0, the Hoover Elite 27-7 and Moody Jaguars 42-0 during pool play on Saturday, which earned the team the No. 1 seed.
Trussville then beat the Gardendale Rockets 32-6 in the semifinals to advance to the championship. Trussville shut out the Oak Mountain Broncos 26-0 in the final.
Head coach of the team was Henry Wideman. He was assisted by Scott Johnson.
