IRONDALE — On Monday the Irondale Police Department announced that they are investigating a possible double homicide of the owners of the Siesta Motel, according to WIAT 42.

On Friday, after a call for a welfare check, police responded to the motel and discovered the safe had been stolen. They also found blood in the motel office. The owners, a man and a woman in their 70s, could not be found.
The police have a suspect, Steven Richard Mulkey, whom was caught on video footage entering the motel office on September 16. Video footage also showed Mulkey assaulting Mr. an Mrs Kao, the owners
According to authorities Mulkey is often at USA Econo Lodge on Crestwood Blvd. That is also the location were the victim’s vehicle was located on Friday.
Police have also advised that Mulkey is a 27-year-old white male with brown hair and brown eyes. Mulkey is 6-foot-1-inches and may have a shaved his head.
