TRUSSVILLE — Coffee lovers will soon have an easier time grabbing a hot cup of java on U.S. Highway 11 in Trussville, according the city councilman Ben Short.
Starbucks, which is currently located at 1420 Gadsden Highway, appeared before the Trussville Design Review committee on Monday night and unveiled plans to convert the former Burger King building to their first free-standing coffee shop in Trussville. The committee approved those plans, Short said.
The new location is about a block from the current Starbucks and is also on the southbound side of the highway which makes it a convenient location for customers on the way to I-459 each morning. The building has access from Hwy. 11 and Morrow Road.
Short said the new location will offer two drive-thru lanes. There is also a Starbucks location inside the Target store at the Tutwiler Promenade.
