BIRMINGHAM — A 60-year-old man drowned after being swept away in floodwaters on Wednesday, March 16, at approximately 3:01 p.m.
Speed was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, where he was pronounced dead.
“The decedent was walking in the roadway and attempting to get into a family member’s vehicle at the time he was swept away by the water,” Deputy Coroner William Yates said.
