BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) requests assistance from the public in obtaining information on a homicide that occurred on January 1, 2022, at approximately 7:40 a.m.
According to the BPD, Timothy Pinson, 32, of Birmingham, sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault in the 800 block of Cable Car Court in Birmingham.

“South Precinct officers were dispatched to 824 Cable Car Court on a report of a person shot,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald said. “Officers arrived on the scene and observed a male lying unresponsive in a silver sedan suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.”
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced Pinson dead.

“The preliminary investigation suggests a community member arrived home and found the victim in the parking lot,” Fitzgerald said. “The shooting is believed to have taken place any time between the previous night to this morning when the community member discovered the victim.”
Currently, there is no one in custody.
