OZARK — Yet another police shooting has rocked Alabama as an Ozark police officer was shot late Thursday night.
According to reports, the officer has survived the shooting as of Friday morning. The suspected shooter was killed.
The condition of the officer has not been released.
The shooting happened at Briarhill Court near downtown Ozark, according to media reports.
“Please keep the Ozark Police Department in your thoughts and prayers as they have had an Officer shot tonight,” Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police President Bill Partridge said via Facebook. “We are praying for the officer and the family.”
There are few details of the incident as of 9 a.m., but reports indicate that the shooting occurred during a police call.
This follows a Huntsville police officer who was shot and killed this past week.
This is a developing story.
