BIRMINGHAM — A 42-year-old man found dead in a parking lot has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Officers arrived on the scene and observed a male victim lying unresponsive in a parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced the male dead.
“The preliminary investigation suggests the victim may have been shot during a period between the previous night and the early morning,” Birmingham Police Officer Truman Fitzgerald said. “Currently, there is no one in custody.”
