From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE –The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a hazardous weather statement for the northern half of Alabama that includes Jefferson and St. Clair counties.
A storm system currently over Mississippi will move into Alabama Tuesday evening bringing a threat of high winds, hail and possible tornadoes, as well as heavy rain in some areas.
The system is expected to pass through the local area between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning. By the time it reaches Jefferson County, w line will have formed, meaning straight line winds could be an issue. The tornado threat should be reduced to possible small, brief tornadoes.
